Job Opportunities

Graduate Student Applicants

We encourage applications from talented and motivated current and prospective graduate students.

Current graduate students interested in rotating in one of our labs, please email Mary Teruel or Tobias Meyer.

Postdoctoral Applicants

Postdoctoral positions are available to study cell signaling control of cell differentiation, or of cell proliferation and cell migration.

The Teruel and Meyer Labs invite applications from talented and self-motivated postdoctoral candidates. You are an ideal fit if you would like to use live-cell imaging approaches and mouse models to study:

(1) how the cell-cycle and circadian rhythms control terminal cell differentiation,

(2) how terminally differentiated cells can be instructed to de-differentiate,

(3) how progenitor cells chose between different cell fates,

(4) how proliferating cells decide whether to enter quiescence or senescence, or

(5) how cells coordinate cell polarization, cell migration and proliferation.

Our two laboratories are well-equipped with multiple top-of-the-line automated microscopes. As a postdoc, you can work on projects in one of the two laboratories or combine the expertise of both laboratories. Our projects often make use of engineered fluorescent reporter cells to understand signaling processes regulating cell fates. One of our model systems is adipocyte differentiation (fat cell differentiation), and we already generated powerful reporter lines and imaging approaches that can answer fundamental questions about the regulation of cell differentiation.

Candidates should have a primary expertise in either cell biology, molecular biology, microscopy, transgenic mouse models, or computational biology, with an interest to pursue interdisciplinary quantitative cell biology research.
