Cdt1 paper is published in Molecular Cell

The paper from Nalin and others describing how cells prevent re-replication of already replicated DNA is out in Molecular Cell. He showed that the licensing factor Cdt1 inhibits DNA synthesis during an overlap period when Cdt1 is still present after origin firing. His work shows how cells separate licensing from DNA synthesis by having a single factor Cdt1 both license origins and suppress DNA synthesis rather than suppressing origin firing.

CDT1 inhibits CMG helicase in early S phase to separate origin licensing from DNA synthesis. Ratnayeke N, Baris Y, Chung M, Yeeles JTP, Meyer T. Molecular Cell. 2023 Jan 5;83(1):26-42.e13. doi: 10.1016/j.molcel.2022.12.004. PMID: 36608667. [Pubmed link]
